It is not a secret that little girls love the color pink, but why is that? Maybe we, adults, are making them like this color since from the day they are born we like to dress them in pink and use the color when decorating their room or buying them toys and other items. I believe that this is exactly what makes them think that pink is their color and that they should only like pink items.
I have two daughters, the oldest was raised as a pink girl herself. Her room was all pink and so were all her. She had a pink Minnie dress (or “vestido da minnie rosa” in Portuguese language) and she had pink shoes, pink little hats and her tiny bodysuits as well as even her jacket was pink. So when she grow up to make her own choices, she also chose everything in pink color.
My youngest daughter was born 10 years later and by that time I didn’t like pink color much anymore. So I bought her all kinds of clothes and items in all the colors of the rainbow. A few years later I was surprised to notice that she didn’t care much for the pink color either. In fact, she preferred green, yellow and blue. Her favorite dress was a beehive dress (or “read more” in Portuguese) that was made of blue and red cotton, something that my firstborn daughter would never have worn at that age.
So I think that there is definitely a connection there. When parents get pink things for their child, they will start wanting more pink things, but if you don’t prefer any specific color, your kid will love other colors as well. The choice is yours, whether you want a pink little princess or a colorful darling, either way, your daughter will always be precious and beautiful.
